Comics Review - Red Menace

Red Menace #1 (Wildstorm) I heard about this book when writers Bilson and DeMeo were interviewed by Word Balloon. Set around the McCarthy witch hunts and featuring a costumed hero having to reveal his identity, the concept really appealed to me. The story is well written and interesting and as expected Jerry Ordway's art is exemplary. The 50s setting is very executed ans Al Vey's inking and Johnny Rench's colouring add to the period feel. The muted tones do make it a slightly repetitive book visually but the story is enough to make reading the rest of the mini series worthwhile.
